ABOUT ME
Hello!
I’m Roman Slavkin, Digital Artist, Creative Designer and Art Director.
I came to the design industry 20 years ago, when I planned to be an architect. However, my life had other plans and in 2004 I entered Athens University of Economics and Business at the Department of Information Technologies what affected my future work in the field of web development at the intersection of IT and graphic design. In parallel with the work of the Web Designer, I got into interaction animation, motion design, 3D and sound effects arrangement (all that breathed life into the static 2D content). A little later in 2005, I discovered digital painting and spent night after night using the wacom digitizer and explored matte painting, speed drawing and concept visualizations. During working hours in the office, I was polishing up my skills of the frontend engineering by developing websites and interface architecture.
In 2011, I was hired at Akazoo company as a Creative Designer and got an opportunity to work in a large team on international cooperations, such as co-branding projects with Viber, Orange, Vodafone, Sony music, Smartfren, MTN, Global and many others. Around the same time, I started developing interfaces for native mobile apps (Android, iOS). Since 2014, in parallel, I started working on various projects for the Silicon Valley Innovation Center where I gained experience in implementing challenging and successful ideas as a Senior Product Designer and later as an Art Director.
Currently, I supervise a couple of projects based on mobile services and clients interconnections, which are accessible via its websites and mobile apps. Every moment I do my best to stay close to the technological innovations in the world of design and human creativity.
